The Master of Education degree in Recreation offers concentrations in two areas of study. Recreation management prepares students with the advanced knowledge and skills needed to be directors and superintendents of recreation for communities, directors of recreation and intramural sports for universities, and managers of other leisure services. Sport management gives students the competencies that will enable them to effectively work in sport settings in universities and professional sports.
All students pursuing master's degrees in recreation are required to take a 6 credit hour Research and Statistics core and a recreation philosophy course (Principles of Recreation) along with the required core courses in each concentration.
